The thermal economic of power station depends not only on the unit itself but also closely linked with the configuration and operation mode of the auxiliary in heat system. Meanwhile, the pressure of boiler feed water continues to rise with the unit capacity and steam parameters are improved of the steam turbine generator set. Which requires the pump can provide higher lift and drive power. There are mainly two kinds of drive ways of power plant boiler feed pump, they are electric-driven and steam-driven. Compared with the electric-driven, the steam-driven has many advantages, such as high speed, large power and saving electricity, which can cooperate with host sliding pressure operation in sliding pressure regulation, reducing the throttling loss, and can realize cascade utilization of energy and so on. Therefore, high-efficiency steam-driven pumps have a very broad market and good prospect. The configuration and connection mode of feed water pump and small turbine, and variable conditions characteristic of feed water pump turbine will have an impact on unit economy. So it is very necessary to study the thermal economic analysis and optimization design of the water pump turbine system.This paper focuses on thermal economic analysis and optimization design of the pump steam turbine in power station. Thesis based on VB programming and MATLAB optimization, analyzed the feed pump steam turbine by adopting the method of thermal balance and exergy analysis. Obtained the efficiency and exergy of the feed water pump turbine, and the relationship between the efficiency of the small turbine and the flow of host in different operating modes and working conditions. And compared the calculated data with the feed pump turbine operating measured data, which can get the errors are within the allowable range, so proved the accuracy of the calculation method. At the same time, which got the relationship between the efficiency of feed water pump turbine and other parameters, it provided a theoretical basis for improving the economy of the feed water pump turbine.Considering the amount of feed water pump turbine extraction and its extraction parameters will affect the main steam turbine power, thus this paper established the objective function of the main steam turbine power optimization. Using the genetic algorithm to obtain the best steam extraction parameters of the feed water pump turbine in different operating conditions, so as to increase the output power of the main turbine. Finally, the article explained some problems of the feed water pump turbine running under low load and draws some preventive measures. These results provide some help to improve the economy of the feed water pump turbine.
