With the increasing levels of motorized mountain city, accelerated process ofurbanization and severe urban traffic conditions, people are increasingly concernedabout the security of the urban road traffic. Compared to the average city, mountain citydue to its special geographical conditions, the event of traffic accidents often result incasualties and vehicle damageand and other serious consequences.The mountain city byits special environmental conditions constraints, and in the event of traffic accidents,often result in casualties and vehicle damage, congestion and other seriousconsequences. How to evaluate the level of road traffic safety on the mountain city, soas to improve the the road run security situation has become a mountain urbandevelopment problems to be solved.Firstly,This paper analysis characteristics of the mountain city, the characteristicsof mountain city road traffic and the characteristics of mountain city road trafficaccident.On this basis, the paper analysis mountain city influence factors of road trafficsafety from the four aspects of the objective conditions of the road, road managementfacilities, road safety, facilities and transportation environmental conditions.Accordingto select principle based on the evaluation of road traffic safety, this paper establishedmountain city evaluation index system of road traffic safety, it contains road grade, roadalignment, road conditions, traffic signs, traffic lights, crash barrier, decelerationfacilities, geological hazards, road side interference and other evaluation indicators.Inthis paper, the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the existing road trafficsafety evaluation method, this paper selected matter element analysis method toevaluate a mountainous urban road traffic safety, and the establishment of the mountaincity road traffic safety evaluation matter element analysis model.Finally, this paper useing the instance of Chongqing Road Safety Evaluationverify the practicality of the mountain city road traffic safety evaluation matter elementanalysis model. Through comparative analysis with the Chongqing Road Traffic SafetyEvaluation Based on AHP analysis verify its effectiveness and to improve Chongqingroad traffic safety measures and recommendations for the evaluation results. The resultscan provide reference and basis for decision making for transportation managers, has acertain reference value and significance.
