In the modern material transport industry, measure the throughput,transportation costs, transportation distance, terrain restriction, belt conveyorsystem has more superior performance in medium and short transportation. Withbelt conveyor technology development and industrial production scale enlargement,long distance, high speed, high power belt conveyor system becomes the maindevelopment trend. In order to study the belt conveyor, the order of the dynamicmodel is high. The difficulty of conveyor analysis and controller design isobviously improved. To simplify the size and complexity of the system model and,it is necessary to reduce the order of belt conveyor.In this paper, we collect some related data from the bulk material beltconveyor, and analyze the running status, physical properties and dynamiccharacteristics of the conveyor. Take Voigt model as the basic unit of the conveyorbelt model. In bearing segment and return segment, decompose the whole belt intotwenty small units. Respectively build the state space equation based on velocityoutput and acceleration output, then the80th order model has built.Based on the main order reduction methods, this paper reduce the order of theoriginal model by combining the theory of matrix singular value decompositionorder reduction, the theory of balanced truncation order reduction and the theory ofLaguerre order reduction. Compared with the speed output curve, speed Bodediagram and the H2-norm of the system error in all parts of the conveyor, this paperreduce the order into14.Through Matlab simulation experiments, analyze and compare the velocity andacceleration output curve in time domain and the frequency domain betweenoriginal model and reduced one. According to the imperfect condition in the highfrequency band reduction, this paper optimizes the zeros of the system transferfunction, improves the overall effect in order reduction, and achieve the purpose ofthe model order reduction.
