Energy problem has become an important issue restricting China’s economicdevelopment at present. With the strategic decision of building a conservation-mindedsociety made by central administration, more and more attention is paid to intelligentbuilding scheme, which could help optimize energy efficiency. Accompanied by thedevelopment of intelligent building, building energy consumption monitoring systememerges, which in particular is closely linked with building automation systems in theintelligent building. With the continuous development of computer technology andcontrol technology, building energy consumption monitoring system is developingtowards the intelligent, integrated, network-based direction. The problem ofequipment centralized control and monitoring in building automation is solved withthe emergency and application of bus technology, which helps to realize thedistributional collection management of modern building electrical.Firstly, a deep analysis of the content of the agreement and characteristics ofProfibus-DP is made, and a method of combining Profibus-DP bus technology withbuilding energy consumption monitoring system is proposed, providing the overallframework of system and software requirements.Secondly, based on the functional requirements of the system, a project onselecting the Profibus-DP as master station with PC+PROFIBUS-DP communicationcard as the core and8discrete inputs/outputs as slave station is made, focusing onthe elaboration of CP5611network communication card, SPC3chip, and peripheralcircuit hardware design of the slave station, providing software design of the slavestation, such as the main program flow chart of and SPC3initialization flow chart etc..Finally, an introduction is given about the preparation of the database and systemconfiguration, and figures of operation effects of HMI are provided, completing thedesign of the subject. Besides, a prospect of the development made in the field ofbuilding energy consumption monitoring by Profibus-DP is made.
