Wind is one of the important factors of climate and it impacts our life qualitysignificantly. The wind environment is limited by geographical climatic conditions,and more affected by the design of urban planning, building characteristics andstructural details. Currently, there are lots of theoretical studies on the wind fieldinfluenced by urban form and structural details. However, less directly face thearchitectural forms layout and be lack of rigorous scientific basis.In response to these issues, the professional fluid software “phoenics” wasemployed in this paper to analyze different teaching building layout. The outdoorwind field was also optimized by using the void space. The specific research methodis as follows: first of all, a wide range of instances of research and mapping analysiswas conducted in terms of campus site in Hubei, its spatial layout and monomerteaching building. And then, the spatial layout that is beneficial to campus windenvironment was obtained by qualitative study and the monomer teachingcharacteristics of layout form and its typical size were also obtained.Based on theabove-mentioned parameters and wind environmental conditions in Hubei provinceas the basis of experimental studies in this work, the experiments of the basic layoutform of various kinds of teaching buildings were studied. Meanwhile, we willintroduce the overhead and the hole to optimize the design of the outdoor wind fieldand integrate experimental results. After that the system optimization principle andmode was achieved.The range of outdoor wind field in this work focuses mostly on the teachingbuilding adjacent areas and the wind environment of campus-wide is only qualitativesummarized as the supplement of this paper. The core content of this paper is thethird and fourth chapters following the way from simple to complex and from theoryto application: Firstly, the basic law of the gas flow around was studied and thedifferent basic layout was experimentally analyzed (Questions). Secondly, theoverhead and the hole were introduced to explore the outdoor wind field optimizationeffective at different size, location and combinations of the void spaces. Then, theprinciple of a specific single layout and the optimization mode (analysis, problemsolving) was figured out. Finally, the optimal effective was achieved by integrating overhead and hole in the distributed or centralized school buildings (solving theproblem).The conclusions of this paper includes the following aspects:1. Campus location and spatial layout that be useful for campus wind environment;2. The pros and cons of the outdoor wind field and recommendations forimprovement in college teaching building basic layout (prototype);3. Setting principles and optimization mode in the basic layout when introducingoverhead or hole respectively (individual measures);4. Optimization model of thedistributed and centralized layout when introducingoverhead and hole comprehensively (measures);Although this thesis is based on climate characteristics and college teachingbuilding layout in Hubei Province, the conclusion for the summer and cold winterregion as well as nationwide building types have reference significance.
