Based on the concept, I selectthe traditional residence in Nanzhang, especially the civil building groups of Feng, as theresearch object. Nanzhang is a historical town which has a long historical and cultural, thetraditional residence are typical of Northwest of local-style dwelling houses. Through theanalysis of the status of traditional dwellings and the architectural features, and thenanalyze the characteristics of climate adaptation.Here is a subtropical monsoon climate zone，Climatic characteristics expressedas:Hot summer and warm winter，abundant rainfall summer but less rainfall in winter. Thetemperature in Nazhang is very difference between day and night. Moreover, geographicalenvironment of many mountains also influence microclimate. Nazhang traditionaldwellings as an architectural form relatively mature and stable not only meet the culturalneeds, but also meet the principles of durability, but also improve the micro-climateenvironment. Face of the climate in Nazhang, Nazhang traditional dwellings requires notonly prevented cold heat preservation, but also pay attention to summer sunstrokeprevention.
