According to the torsion-vibration of the power train system, people put forward a lot ofeffective damping measures, as one of the measures, dual mass flywheel has been widelyrecognized and applied due to its superior damping performance. But most of the dual massflywheel’s elastic element is long arc helical spring. Because its spring is arranged along thecircumference, it is easily affected by the large centrifugal force when the engine at high speed,which will causes the spring wear. This article is in view of the insufficient above to design anew structure of dual mass flywheel trying out different arrangement of the spring. Use the discspring and make the spring along the axial arrangement, or use the air spring and make thespring lay along the radius direction. By comparing the two kinds of design scheme above wecan concludes the structure of the final design to eliminate the shortcomings above. At last, formnonlinear torsion stiffness dual mass flywheel.This design determines the basic parameters of the new structure by choosing the moment ofinertia of the first level of the flywheel and the secondary and their ratio, the torsion stiffness andthe damping coefficient. When determining the torsion stiffness we can get the elasticitycharacteristic curve of the elastic element and the torsion stiffness curve of the dual massflywheel. Then carry out the power train system’s torsion vibration analysis through MATLABtool software, one with the clutch disc torsion-damper (CTD), and the other one with the doublemass flywheel torsion-damper (DMF), get the natural frequency and the inherent vibration modeof the vehicle power train. And the results show that the dual mass flywheel has a better effect onthe reduction of the low order natural frequency of the power train system.In this paper, it establishes a three-dimensional model of the new type of dual mass flywheelthrough the3d modeling software UG NX7, and performs the analysis and evaluation onvibration reduction effect through ADAMS software by establishing torsion vibration model of6degree of freedom in idle speed condition and10degree of freedom in running condition. Bycomparing input and secondary flywheel’s fluctuations amplitude of angular velocity andangular acceleration can draw the conclusion that, the new dual mass flywheel has a good effecton the torsion vibration attenuation. However, there are some design defects in the structure to beimproved, which can get from the fluctuation of the angular acceleration curves of the simulationanalysis.In the final, optimize the dual mass flywheel on the base of the established virtual prototypein order to obtain the major parameters such as the moment of inertia, the torsion stiffness, andthe torsion damping.
