Multi-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) has severaladvantages over DC motor or induction motor, such as smaller volume, higherefficiency, higher reliability, lower torque ripple, and redundancy control. Therefore,Multi-phase PMSMs are widely used in electric ship propulsion system. This dissertation focuses on six-phase four-pole double-Y shift30°PMSM,including building mathematical model, computer simulation, and the drive controllerdesign.Firstly, by using winding function and inverted air-gap function, the dissertationcalculates the self-inductance, the mutual inductance, and the magnetic flux linkage. Then, the dissertation builds a mathematical model with natural coordinates. Bycoordinate transformation theory, the model is converted to a model with two-phaserotational coordinates. Furthermore, a simulation model is built in Matlab/Simulink.Secondly, the dissertation designs a motor driver controller based onTMS320F2812. It mainly includes power system circuit, DSP control circuit,six-phase bridge main circuit and drive circuit, rotor position, speed detection circuit, current and voltage detecting circuit, temperature detection circuit, relay driver circuit,LCD display circuit, LED indicating circuit.Thirdly, the dissertation utilizes the PWM control strategy, which is based on activetime, into the controller algorithm design. Besides, the dissertation detailed analyzesthe AD collection and PWM subroutines. The simulation shows a good dynamic control performance and its resultsindicate the control algorithm has reached practical application level. The experimentshows that the rotor position, speed detection, voltage collection, current collection, temperature detection circuit and other circuits success in satisfying the requirements.
