Compared with the urban architecture, the characteristics, such as regionalism,climate, historic, nationality, is clearer in rural residential and the history of thedevelopment of rural residential is very remarkable. The buildings are used to provide amanual areas with refuge for the habitants and it play a role on “indoor climateconditioning”, which often have some limitations. So, to provide a healthy andcomfortable indoor climate, it is necessary to adopt an active indoor climateconditioning. In fact, a good design should consider the difference of climate andarchitectural forms. The purpose of the subject is to provide a theory and designmethods for the rational design of the equipments in the rural residential and provide astandardized design at the same time.In the first section, the paper sums up and concludes the history of the ruralresidential development and the characteristics of new rural construction. According tothe climate subarea and thermal partitions, seven typical areas are chosen as the researchsubject. Moreover, some typical rural residential in the seven areas are studied in theresearch.The verification of the software Plumabing and Drainage and Solar Energe Designfor Rural Village(PDSRV)is conducted. The PDSRV software is used to conduct thedesign of the solar heating system and standardized design of the water supply anddrainage system. The modular design of the solar heating system includes six parts andthese parts are: determinate the hot-water supply system, the calculation of the heatingdemand, the design of the thermal system, the design of the supply systems, the choseof the pipes and plot construction drawings, respectively. Furthermore, the modulardesign of the water supply and drainage system includes the design of four parts andthese parts are cold-water supply system, hot-water supply system, fire fighting system and drainage system, respectively. the design of each standard layer includes the inputof water supply and drainage model, the model choice and inset of the equipments, thedrawing of the pipe system, the insert of the pipelines annex parts and the hydrauliccalculation and it is good to expand and perfect the standard library of PDSRV software,which is beneficial to the design of the rural residential.
