Research On Urban Compactness And Urban Agglomerations Compactness In Northwest China

Rapid urbanization，cultivated land protection，construction land guarantee，urbansustainable development and the others are the research background of compactcity．Along with diversification and complexity of urban space morphology，therederive some space organizational forms，such as urban agglomeration，megalopolis，metropolitan area and urban-rural integration so on．The research on being centralizedor decentralized of a city can’t cover all space organizational forms，regional spaceorganizational forms have being studied gradually．Therefore，achieving developmentgoal of compactness not only aims at a city，also should consider it from regionalperspective．According to the basic concept of compact city， this paper has built acomprehensive evaluation index system to calculated urban compactness from threeaspects that are urban space compactness， reasonable structure and highefficiency． Based on the principal component analysis， urban compactnesscomprehensive scores of the thirty cities of urban agglomerations in northwest Chinain2010are calculated and also studied the main influence factors on urbancompactness by multiple linear regression model．The results：①Overall，the levelof urban compactness of urban agglomerations in northwest China is low，and it needto be improved to realize sustainable development of the city，at the same time，polarization phenomenon is obvious；②Overall， average level of urbancompactness in these six urban agglomerations successively degrades in that order ofGuanzhong-Tianshui urban agglomeration，Hubaoe urban agglomeration，thenorthern Tianshan slope urban agglomeration，Lanbaixi urban agglomeration，Jiujiayuurban agglomeration and Yinchuan plains urban agglomeration；③The chief influencefactor on urban compactness is Economic density，and population density，economicgrowth elasticity，density of road network，green coverage ratio of built districts，information entropy of urban construction land，compactness of cities morphologyand so on followed．The paper has studied urban agglomeration synthetic compactness from regionalperspective． It has calculated urban agglomerations industry compactness bybuilding industrial concentration index model，concentration index model of industrial structure and space efficiency index model of industrial structure； It has calculatedurban agglomerations space compactness by building spatial interaction index model，population density index model and urban density index model； It has calculatedurban agglomerations traffic compactness by building weighted accessibility indexmodel，unweighted accessibility index model and compactness index model of trafficspace； at last，it has calculated urban agglomeration synthetic compactness by urbanagglomerations industry compactness，urban agglomerations space compactness andurban agglomerations traffic compactness．The results：①Overall，the level of urbanagglomeration synthetic compactness in Northwest China is low，the level of urbanagglomeration synthetic compactness successively degrades in that order ofGuanzhong-Tianshui urban agglomeration，Lanbaixi urban agglomeration，Hubaoeurban agglomeration，the Northern Tianshan Slope urban agglomeration，Yinchuanplains urban agglomeration and Jiujiayu urban agglomeration；②Relatively speaking，Guanzhong-Tianshui urban agglomeration synthetic compactness is high，urbanagglomeration synthetic compactness of Lanbaixi urban agglomeration，Hubaoe urbanagglomeration，the northern Tianshan slope urban agglomeration，Yinchuan plainsurban agglomeration and Jiujiayu urban agglomeration has little difference，but theirindustry compactness，space compactness，traffic compactness have significant innerdifference．To industry compactness，Hubaoe urban agglomeration and the northernTianshan slope urban agglomeration have comparative advantage，and Jiujiayu urbanagglomeration has Significant disadvantage； To space compactness，Guanzhong-Tianshui urban agglomeration has Significant advantage，but Hubaoeurban agglomeration，the northern Tianshan slope urban agglomeration，Yinchuanplains urban agglomeration and Jiujiayu urban agglomeration have similar levels，andalso is very low． To traffic compactness，relatively speaking，Lanbaixi urbanagglomeration and Yinchuan plains urban agglomeration have some advantage，andthe others have similar levels；③Different urban agglomerations have differentdevelopment current state of industry compactness，space compactness and trafficcompactness，therefore，various urban agglomeration Must regulate and control theircompactness development combining with their own development presentsituation．As a whole，we should perceive clearly and definitely development process of different urban agglomerations，reasonably accelerate the cultivation of new growthpole， strengthen the industrial structure and layout adjustment of the urbanagglomeration， strengthen transportation network allocation of the urbanagglomeration，enhance network node accessibility，prompt networking of regionalspace，speed up policy system improvement of the urban agglomeration，bring spacecompactness strategy and integration strategy into force and aim to solve a series ofproblems that every city has a style of its own，also scattered construction andrepeated construction lead to waste of resources and higher cost，and finally to realizeevery city of urban agglomeration to be interests community，that is to say，they aremutually beneficial，and develop smart growth urban agglomerations which are highdensity，high efficiency and saving-oriented.
