With the development of highway bridge, the safety of bridge construction is critical topeople’s life and property security. In recent years, as the bridge collapse accidents appearconstantly, people’s life and property are under threat, for example, compression failure ofsingle column curved bridge happened in Heilongjiang. The security of bridge causes thebridge experts’ attention increasingly. So, choosing reasonable bridge compaction methodsand mechanical equipment configuration, improving compaction quality are necessary.Compaction of bridge deck pavement, is differ from compaction after closing up. Bridgeis a suspended structure, and working environment is poor. So the requirement for compactionwork is very strict. Bridge compaction mechanical equipment configuration is one of the mostimportant factors which will influence bridge security. During the bridge deck compaction,mechanical equipment combination of mechanical equipment, such as paver, roller, materialhandling, transit vehicles. Traditional compaction methods will have bad effect on bridgesecurity. Choosing reasonable bridge compaction methods can reach the goal compactness,ineffective time, with bridge structure under small vibration intensity, ensuring the safety ofbridge construction.This paper analyzes the deck worst loading position of different bridge types, throughstudying on construction load influence to bridge structure safety. On this basis, through thecompaction test of typical asphalt mixture, the required energy that can meet the compactnessof asphalt mixture is obtained. The compaction machine tonnage and rolled times from theenergy equivalent are determined, and the required mechanical equipment combination ofdifferent bridge pavement is defined. For two main compaction methods, vibrationcompaction and oscillation compaction, analyzing the influence on bridge structure based oncompaction principles respectively. The oscillation compaction is more suitable forapplication in the bridge deck compaction work. Control indexes on oscillatory compactionquality and compaction methods are put forward. On the basis of deep study on theperformance of cast asphalt concrete, it is drawn that cast asphalt concrete is another measureto solve the compaction problem in bridge deck compaction, and suitable condition andcontrol index were putted forward.
