The auto industry plays a significant role in promoting the economic development ofcountries,but also causes great threat to the world’s energy and the environment at the sametime.Many countries have enhanced the development of energy-saving and new energyvehicles to the National Strategic.In view of the low battery energy density of pure electricvehicle,the short driving range of one charge,hybrid electric vehicles have become themainstream of the world countries main direction and commercialization. due to its hightransport efficiency,low transportation costs and other characteristics. Heavy commercialvehicles have become the darling of the road transportation. With the rise of the internationaloil prices,as well as the implementation of the state IV emission standards.The hybrid heavycommercial vehicles are gaining more importance.In this paper, we take Foton Auman heavy tractor BJ4188SLFJA as a designprototype.We make BJ4188SLFJA became a parallel hybrid electric vehicle through redesignthe drivetrain system of it,and make a deep analysis of the application of hybrid technologyin the heavy commercial vehicles.The main work is to analyze and discuss the heavycommercial hybrid power system,such as its structural arrangement,the major drive systemcomponents selection,parameters design matching,major components modeling and systemperformance simulation and part of the parameters optimization and so on.The specificcontents and steps of research are as follows:1.The determination of the Structure and the control strategy.Comprehensive analysisof the various structures types and various coupled device structure characteristics,advantages and disadvantages and the applicable conditions of the hybrid vehicle.Anddetermine the program type of drive system and control strategy of the heavy hybrid electricvehicle on the basis of analysis.And introduce the specific programs.2.These election of the major components and matching of the parameters. This studyanalyzes the operating characteristics of the main components in driving system of the heavycommercial hybrid electric vehicle.The momentum indicators combining hybrid vehiclesselection and parameter design of the major drive components for hybrid vehicles,came to the conclusion its vehicle power systems and power train parameters.3.The establishment of simulation model of the main components.Establishing the maincomponents of the powertrain model and control strategy model in ADVISOR environmentbased on MATLAB/SIMULINK,and establish the ADVISOR model of the vehicle.4.The analysis of results of the simulation.Setting the ADVISOR environment,with thevehicle dynamic and economic performances as the research target, input parameters andsimulate.5.The optimization of the parameters. Optimize part of the drive train and controlstrategy parameters in ADVISOR, comparison and analysis of different parameters with thesimulation results, obtained the power performance and fuel economy of the best parameterdesign.
