The earthquake as a kind of natural disaster, will bring huge losses to human life and property.Most of them ware due to the collapse of the building caused by earthquake, so the building that lack of seismic capability need to be reinforced.The traditional strengthening methods is to reinforce the members that the bearing capacity is insufficient,will affect the use function of the original structure. This paper choose the seismic retrofitting based on the theory of damage-reduction mode,adopt the frame structure as the research object and the shear wall as points disaster element.When the earthquake come,the shear wall can bear most of the seismic force and dissipate the energy first, reduce the loss of the frame structure.This study research the shear wall nappe effect under the action of horizontal seismic force at first, and then choose a frame building of5floors as the example to research which reinforced by the shear wall. The main factors influencing strengthening effect for strengthening consequences is the structure stiffness, so the additional element’s stiffness is the key point of reinforcement design.we put the Performance point’s parameters of7(0.15g) degree earthquake as the the reference standard,as in this point the frame structure has no plastic hinge and the vertex displacement is quite small.Then we think in this point the loss of frame is acceptable.The results show that if we want to make the original structure’s performance point parameters meet the design standards in7(0.15g) degree earthquake,the total stiffness should be about2.7times of the original structure;if in8degree earthquake,the total stiffness should be5.8~7.0times of the original structure.Through the analysis of many model data, that reinforcement method has obvious reinforcing effect, make the structures more reasonable under seismic load, and can improve the seismic performance of the frame structure significantly.Finally, this tudy select a reinforcement model for investment-benefit analysis.In the role of the earthquake, reinforcement will not increase the total cost obviously can improve the safety stock and reduce the indirect economic loss greatly as the frame structure has no Plastic hinge...
