Among the parts of a whole piston, piston ring seals up the space between the pistonand cylinder stator, but also conducts heat, cleans the engine oil, and bearing the pistonshape; piston pin mechanism joints the piston and rod together and transfer gas pressure torod. These two parts are both vulnerable, but their working properties determine not onlythe working reliability but also the output power of an engine. With the increasingdemands of output power, the fatigue problems of both piston ring and piston pinmechanism become more and more serious. To accurately predict the rest life of an engineas well as to improve the output power, researches should be conducted on the fatigue ofboth of these two engine parts.In order to develop a system for the fatigue study of piston ring and piston pinmechanism, a control system is designed to simulate the real working environment of a piston.In this control system, pressure data in cylinder stator are collected real-timely by usingpressure transducers and then adjusted to make it approach to a real working pressureenvironment of piston. This system is hierarchically designed; hence both the digital analogconverter and analog digital converter can work independent of host computer to decrease itslabor intensity. Wireless transmission techniques are adopted, and all the control commandscan be sent out at remote terminals. This is very convenient to use. Also included in thiscontrol system is the custom function of office software functions, which are used forautomatic test results exports and auto generation of data report.Several fatigue tests are successfully conducted and it is concluded that, this controlsystem can not only effectively obtain the test pressures that satisfying the test demands byadjusting the flow servo valves, but also it can export test reports automatically to reducethe labor intensity.
