The course of development of the international heritage protection shows thathistorical and cultural towns&villages, as an important part of the international heritage,gradually expanded the scope of its protection objects: single heritage buildingâ†'historical areaâ†'historical environment, and pay more attention to the protection ofauthenticity and integrity. The rapid development of the economy brought about the lossof traditional landscape, from the perspective of green space system, landscape planningof historical and cultural towns&villages integrates various traditional space mainly toprotect the historical heritage, as a response to the fragmentation of traditional villagegreen space and landscape crisis in an effective way.Firstly, the paper analyzed, generalized and summarized the relevant literature andplanning, and proposed research entry point for this article: combining the protection ofhistorical heritage with the characteristics of the traditional green space.Secondly, the paper analyzed and summarized the plane form, function and featuresof the traditional green space about China’s historical and cultural towns&villages fromthe macro, meso and micro three levels, and laid a solid theoretical foundation for thebellows. Among them, the macro level has the mountain-river landscape character; in themeso level, the street space can reflect history, the roadway space is quiet and pleasant,the waterfront space has colorful landscape, the square space has the rich content, thepublic green space has the active atmosphere; in the micro level, the courtyard space iscomfortable, and the green space neary the house can make full use of every space. Theabove research is helpful to clarify the core content of the plan, mainly including: in themacro level, through maintaining and reinforcing the continuity of whole landscapepattern and molding the natural features skyline to protect the the overall naturallandscape ecologically; in the meso level, through making sure the main culture,inheritaging the street lane space, protecting and utilizing the waterfront space, protectingand recreating the square space, and inserting and decorating the public green space fiveaspects to create a historical and cultural atmosphere space; in the micro level, through maintaining and creating the courtyard space and making full use of the green spaceneary the house, and protecting the ancient and famous trees three aspects to strengthenthe construction of the courtyard and living space habitability. Then, introducing greenheart, green core, green way, green wedge four related concepts is helpful to integrate thevarious green space of historical and cultural towns&villages, so as to build greenlandscape system with natural features and cultural characteristics.Finally, the paper takes Gaodu historical and cultural town as a real example,analyzes the types, characteristics and existing problems of the green space in Gaodu.Then, the author combines the planning theory and specific practice, and put forwardsome planning measures, such as reinforcing the continuity of whole landscape pattern,molding the rich ups and downs of skyline, inheritaging the business functions of thestreet lane space, utilizing landscape ecological function of the waterfront space,protecting the historical features of the square space, activing the atmosphere of thepublic green space, make full use of the inner and outer space of the courtyard.etc. Theseplanning measures can protect the cultural characteristics of the green space in Gaodu.The purpose of this study is to protect historical heritage, to entrust green space withthe traditional characteristics and landscape charm at the same time, to create a wholecontinuous natural landscape landscape, a playing ang being educated space, and aappropriate livable living space. The results of this study not only provide the theoreticalsupport and the model for other towns&villages, and provide multidimensionalapproach for the construction of green space of the modern villages and towns.
