Research And Design Of Tunnels Construction Monitoring System Based On Wireless Sensor Network

With the rapid development of our social economy and increasing number of tunnels in the city, more and more attentions have been paid to the safety of tunnels construction. Therefore, it is urgent that we establish a tunnel construction intelligent monitoring system, which can be used for remotely real-time monitor of the actual tunnels construction. With this system, we can manage and solve the problems in construction process without delay, and ensure as best we can that the construction safety will be protected and construction accidents can be prevented.Through the study of characteristics of the tunnel construction environment, this paper introduces features and emergency measures of accidents such as tunnel fire, collapse, water inrush, harmful gas exceed and so on. Based on these features, this paper puts forward a new wireless monitoring scheme based on Wireless Sensor Network. There are lots of sensors in this system to collect data wireless, and achieve wireless transmission through GPRS. The degree of the accident in the tunnel under construction will be transmitted through text message to the responsible person after computing the data collected. At the same time, the responsible could watch the onsite video through mobile phones or web. The design of the transmission program of the text message and the development of XML of UI are also introduced in this paper. Finally, taking tunnel fire for example, the feasibility of the system was analyzed and verified.Tunnels construction intelligent monitoring system based on wireless sensor network will improve the automaticity of the tunnel construction monitoring, save human and material resources, and even provide security for the tunnel construction.It is hoped that this research will contribute to designs of other tunnel monitoring systems in the future.
