The Yangtze River waterway connects the east and west of China, and has thestrongest navigation ability. It is the golden waterway that strings a pearl chain of the Yangtze River economy belt. The realization of good maintenance of this waterway issignificant to undertake coastal industrial transfer, benefit and cover the regions alongthe river, and drive the economic growth of vast hinterland. Beacon inspection ship isone of the most important special operations ships at present, which not only undertakethe tasks of daily inspection and the layout of beacon light boat, but also put into drilland crew training. Onerous tasks make the traditional training mode can’t satisfy theneeds of further development. Therefore, it is significant to carrying out a research ofthe virtual reality simulation of the beacon inspection ship and to perfect digitalconstruction of this waterway.This paper takes the part of Yangtze River waterway in ChaoTianMen assimulation scene and a certain type of beacon inspection ship as the research object, andmaks a deeper research on the realization methods and steps of virtual drivingsimulation system of the beacon inspection ship based on Multigen Creator/Vega Primeand VS2005.Firstly, this paper deeply analyses the virtual reality technology research andapplication status in the field of ship simulation, and gets the implementation schemebased on the requirements. The scheme includes three stages: the pretreatment of model,Lynx Prime graphical interface designing and visual simulation program designing.Secondly, by understanding the structure and driving steps of beacon inspectionship, and making a collection of its design file and the experimental data, this paperestablished the model of the beacon inspection ship, the main electromechanicalequipment, the target terrain, bridges and3d trees, and completed the pretreatment ofthe visual simulation model.Thirdly, the instances of climate, dynamic water, viewpoints and coordinatetransform were created in Lynx Prime. Meanwhile the model of the beacon inspectionship, the main electromechanical equipment, the target terrain, the bridges and otherlandscape models were made a preliminary integration design, and then got a basicstructure of simulation.Finally, this paper established a framework based on the renewal MFC, and created a Vega Prime working thread and the starting mechanism, and achieved the variousfunctions by calling the API functions and using the related mathematical model.
