The sector lead viscoelastic damper has been proposed and researched. Based on thoseresults, the seismic response reduction effect of sector lead viscoelastic dampers in RC framestructure is investigated under frequent earthquakes and rare earthquake in this paper.,andthen parameter analysis of vibration reduction of performance of frame structures with SLVDwas carried out under frequent earthquakes.The main contents are as follows:(1)In order to study the seismic response reduction effect of sector lead viscoelasticdampers in RC frame structure under frequent earthquakes, the elastic time history analysiswas carried out on frame structure with and without SLVD using software ETABS.Thecomparative research suggests that SLVD reduce significantly seismic responses of framestructure and internal forces at the end of beams and columns, playing a remarkable dampingeffect.(2) In order to study the effect of site on the seismic dissipation performance of framestructures with SLVD, the elastic time history analysis was carried out on frame structurewith SLVD respectively under seismic waves on classⅠ,Ⅱ, Ⅲ, and Ⅳ site. The results showthat SLVD have remarkable effect on frame structure’s seismic dissipation performance ineach site condition. RC frame structure with SLVD on class I and class II site achieve betterseismic dissipation performance.(3) In order to compare the damping effect of sector lead viscoelastic dampers, viscousdamper and BRB energy dissipation hanch braces in frame structures, the elastic time historyanalysis was carried out on frame structure with each kind of dampers. The comparativeresearch suggests that viscous dampers are better than sector lead viscoelastic dampers atcontrolling the seismic response of frame structure and weaker than sector lead viscoelasticdampers at reducing iternal forces of frame structure.Both are more effectiveness than BRBenergy dissipation hanch braces in shock absorbing.(4)In order to study the influence of the location of dampers on seismic dissipationperformance of RC frame structures with sector lead viscoelastic dampers, the elastic timehistory analysis was carried out on frame structures with SLVD respectively disposed in thetop five stories, the bottom five stories, odd number stories, all stories and stories in whichthe inter story displacement angles are larger.The results show that all the five energydissipation projects work well,frame structure with SLVD arranged in all stories achive theoptimal seismic dissipation performance similar to that of frame structure with SLVD arranged in weak stories or stories in which the inter story displacement angles are larger(5) In order to study the effect of parameters of dampers on seismic dissipationperformance of frame structures with sector lead viscoelastic dampers, the elastic timehistory analysis was carried out on energy dissipation structures respectively underdifferent sizes, diameters of lead cores and thickness of rubber layer of SLVD.The resultsshow that the best range of SLVD in the frame is1.4m1.8m away from the end of beam.In the case of configuration requirements of SLVD met, the larger the diameter of leadcores increase and the smaller the thickness of rubber layer decreases, the better theseismic dissipation performance of RC frame structure with SLVD is.(6) In order to study the seismic dissipation performance of frame structures with SLVDunder rare earthquakes, the dynamic elastic plastic time history analysis was carried out usingsoftware perform3D on energy dissipation structure proved to be most effective underfrequent earthquakes. The results show that the damping effect of SLVD is remarkable underrare earthquakes. Comparing with structure without SLVD, the seismic responses of framestructure with SLVD are reduced dramatically, internal forces at the junction of frame arediminished significantly, and yield of components is delayed...
