There are always factors leading to breakdown in equipment and systems on boardship. These factors mainly include three aspects:the first is manufacturing defects and wear and aging of the equipment, and the second is an irresistible environmental conditions, the third is human factors. According to an analysis of Maritime Research organization, more than80%of accidents involve human factors. These insecurities do much harm to the ships, ocean, personnel life and property. It is necessary to take a certain approach to conduct research on the accident to find some of their inherent law, and then take further measures to prevent the accident, reduce accidents to a minimum. which include:physical quality, mental quality, technical quality, management quality etc.Firstly, with marine diesel engine being the research object, This paper will discuss human factors and control based on in-depth analysis of cases of nearly200marine diesel engine accident we have collected, hoping to find some regularity and then be able to find a more proper access to reduce or avoid accident.Secondly, with carrying out a detailed and in-depth analysis of marine diesel engine trouble and human factors in trouble, this paper establishes an assessment index system of human element in marine diesel trouble from the result of expert questionnaires. After analyzing each assessment index of the assessment index system in detailed, and establishing the weights and degree of membership of each assessment index by utilizing AHP(Analytical Hierarchy Process), comprehensive assessment model is built up for assessing human element in marine diesel trouble by applying fuzzy comprehensive assessment of fuzzy mathematic. Then the result of general assessment is gained. At last, the assessment model to be verified on specific marine company for accordance.
