The diesel common rail electronic control unit ECU is the heart of the diesel engine,and thefuel injection module is the key component of the electronic control unit ECU.This paperintroduces the fuel injection module of the diesel common rail electronic control unit ECU whichis based on the programmable logic device. Using programmable logic devices, based on Quartusâ…ˇ develop software, at the same time using Verilog HDL language programming, make the wholemodule has strong portability, more conducive to product upgrade.First of all, this paper gives a brief introduction about the development of the programmablelogic devices where the CPLD and the FPGA are the two kinds of programmable logic devicesthat are current widely used, illustrates the characteristics and the differences between the twohardware description languages, the Verilog HDL and the VHDL, describes the origination,advantages and the compatibility with other software of the Quartus â…ˇ develop software. Theprogrammable logic devices, the hardware description languages and the Quartusâ…ˇdevelopsoftware are all used by the the fuel injection module of the diesel common rail electronic controlunit.Next, System hardware development circuit has been designed. The whole system hardwaredesign is divided into the microprocessor unit, fuel injection module, power module, signalconditioning module, driver circuit design, etc., where the drive circuit design part includesbooster circuit design, injector driven design and oil pump driven design. Moreover, theanti-jamming design has been carried on the whole hardware system.Then, this paper introduces the function of the fuel injection control module, the protectiondiagnosis module, the signal processing module, the clock module, SPI communication moduleand the high voltage control module in detail, which are all contained in the software part of thefuel injection module.Finally, tests have been carried out respectively on the software part and the hardware part ofwhole application system. The alignment test has been carried out among the input signal circuit,output driving circuit and the overall system functions, and the function test has been done inlaboratory, and finally verified in real vehicle. Test results show that the design of the wholesystem has reached the requirement of the diesel high voltage common rail electronic control system, meeting the control requirements of diesel engine under various conditions.Using the programmable logic devices can shorten the hardware development cycle, beconvenient for program modification, strengthen the portability, improve the integration of ECU,minimize the volume of a circuit board and enhance the resistance to electromagnetic interference.Using the fuel injection control module of the diesel high voltage common rail electroniccontrol unit ECU which is based on the programmable logic devices enhanced the electromagneticinterference resistance,increased the confidentiality of the circuit,and improved thecompetitiveness of the diesel common rail electronic control system on the market.The employ of the fuel injection control module of the diesel high voltage common railelectronic control unit ECU which is based on the programmable logic devices enhanced theelectromagnetic interference resistance, increased the confidentiality of the circuit and improvedthe competitiveness of the diesel common rail electronic control system on the market.
