Switched reluctance motor (SRM) has its unique advantages because of its simple structure, flexible control, high reliability, etc. Therefore, compared with traditional AC and DC servo system, switched reluctance servo drives (SRSD) systems is much more competitive. However, its double salient pole structure also causes some problems, such as larger step angle, larger torque ripple, bigger noise and speed fluctuation, decreasing the control precision, which limits its application in servo driving system. Under this background, the SRM servo system is studied and designed on the basis of SR motor design and control strategy.Based on the Performance requirements of servo system, the three phase24/16poles SRM’electromagnetism is designed, and its validity is verified by Ansoft/RMxprt software. Also, the factors of the torque ripple are analyzed, and its correctness is checked by the Ansoft/Maxwell2D software. The double loop control including the current loop and position loop is used in the paper. And the simulation model of the servo system is built. This system’s dynamic and static performances are proved to be good by the simulation results.Above all these studies, based on the DSP TMS320F2812and absolute type encoder TS5667N120, the hardware platform on a0.75KW three phases24/16pole SRM are designed by this paper, including the power main circuit, rectifier circuit, the protection circuit, etc. The software is developed in CCS3.3. And finally, an experimental study and analysis are taken, the control accuracy and servo performance of the SRSD system are proved to be good.
