Car information need to be known timely by drivers in the process of driving cars, for example speed, engine speed, water temperature and oil. Drivers can adjust driving control according to the information timely. Automobile dashboard shows the car information to drivers in the car cab. It is the terminal what reflects car information and communication with drivers. Modern automobile dashboard consists of some basic information, for example Speedometer, tachometer, water-thermometer, oil scale, LCD and other indicator lights and alarm lamps such as direction indicator lamp, Hand brake lights, Water temperature alarm lamp, etc. Those signal lamps remind drivers pay attention to the car information. In addition, the design of automobile dashboard also plays a role of decoration in the cab. In the automotive industry ever-developing day, the development of dashboard gets more and more attention of people. It is one of the import standards about measure vehicle performance and level.Subject brings a new scheme for automobile dashboard to the question about the single transmission and low integration in dashboard in our country. The scheme theoretically designs a highly integrated, safe, stable and reliable automobile dashboard which based on NEC uPD78F0849single-chip as the master control chip and the signals can be transmitted from not only the CAN bus but also harness. Subject firstly introduces automobile dashboard development and basic principle of work, and put forward universal dashboard modeling, then design of the block diagram of the automobile dashboard, after that analyses each function module in detail including feasibility and algorithm, etc. secondly making the new type dashboard a real through the hardware design. Then Subject analyses the software of automobile dashboard and writing the software about modules of the process, make the strategy operation of the instrument in according to the requirements of the new dashboard. Finally, after testing, complete subject universal automobile dashboard development.Subject compares with other scheme with a series of advantages, for example low cost, high integration, high safety and reliability. The scheme not only overcame the shortcoming in the traditional automobile but also has advantages of simple structure, small volume, good real-time, high precision, wide applicable range, etc. Schemes reserved enough pins and interface in design of system, making it is easy to test and upgrade.
