| At present, along with the advancement of our country urbanization, the city is inconstant transformation, expansion. The estate has been rapid development andaccounts for a large proportion of the national economy. But in the process of city, isthe protection of ancient buildings reasonable and enough? If there are problems, howcan we improve the situation?After the problem is proposed, in the base of summarizing the Theory andresearch of predecessors, this paper interprets the relation of unity of oppositesbetween the “ancient architecture protection” and the “real estate development”,starting with the basic concept the relationship between them. The author thinks thatthe protection and development are complementary, mutually reinforcing relationship.At the same time, the author is deeply into the old city of Changsha and takes themethod of the field investigation and the method of statistical analysis. The authorsets out the present situation of the protection of ancient buildings in old city and theliving situation of the original inhabitants. Then the author thorough analysis theproblem in protection mechanism at the present stage and expounds thecountermeasures to these problems. For the government, it is a pressing matter of themoment to protect the ancient buildings that attach importance to the protection ofancient buildings, rational planning, and improve laws and regulations, and activelyguide the real estate development etc. But for real estate development, it is a mosteffective ways to the protection of ancient buildings that how to realize thetransformation of cultural value to economic value In the premise of protectingancient buildings.
