According to the analysis results of road traffic injury situation, know that casualtiescaused by automobile collisions account for a large proportion. Because of the highly lethal ofthe collision of pole side impact, in recent years, people gradually know special type of carside impact, and people pay more and more close attention to the study on impact safety ofcar pole side. As major contact region of pole side impact, the invasion of speed, invasion ofacceleration, intrusion volume and shape deformation of the side components in the cardirectly impact on passenger’ injury. Therefore, the ideal structure of the side components inthe car can efficiently improving the collision models pole side security.In accordance with Euro-NCAP standard, the paper study on impact safety of the carpole by using a method of combining finite element analysis and test based on the basictheory of finite element. Firstly, build the finite element model of car impact in HyperMesh,and set up relevant contact parameters in the Dyna template, then, submit it to LS-Dyna tosolve and calculate. Finally, process the simulation results by using HyperView, deeplyanalysis the collision response of the side components in the car such as sill beams, floorbeams and B column on the pole side impact basis on simulation results, further reveal thepole side of the collision response.Through control the acceleration of non-impact side B-pillar and intrusion volume ofside panels, analysis the transmission path of collision force, aim at its structural defects,improve and optimize the key components of side panels with the help of orthogonalexperimental and comprehensive equilibrium methods from both the structure and thickness,compare and analysis the dynamic response, shape deformation, intrusion volume and energychanges of before and after of improvement to verify its effectiveness.The research shows that, improving and optimizing the side panels’ structure and the keycomponents thickness of mature body structure can enhance the crashworthiness effectively.In this paper, the results can be used as a reference of improving the collision models poleside security.
