The vehicle side impact crash is one of the most common types of fatal crash. Itincludes car-to-car side impact and car-to-narrow object collision. The side impact testresearch in China started rather late. At present, most research works of the sideimpact test are focused on the car-to-car impact. However the researches in terms ofcar-to-narrow object collision are almost empty. Furthermore the existing MDB sideimpact test does not reflect the hazard of the vehicle to narrow vertical fixed objectcollisions. Therefore, it is very important to make the research in pole side impact(car-to-narrow objects) for the result of improving the vehicle safety.For side pole vehicles impact, firstly, Establish Europe and America FE model inpole side impact, and through to Taurus two different models the animated simulationand system of energy response characteristics and automobile body side side columncollision encircled the dynamic deformation characteristics and B column invasionquantity and invasion speed and other aspects had carried on the thorough contrastiveanalysis,further revealed the collision characteristics of side column collision andanalyzes under two standards to the difference of automotive structure securityrequest; Next discusses enhanced side the vehicles the column collision structureimpact strength to be able the effective action based on this, proposed three optimizethe side column collision automotive structure secure plan under America testcondition.The findings indicated: Under US sign test condition side the total energy ofcolumn collision finite element model is quite big, side to encircle the dynamicdeformation to be big, the B column invasion quantity and invasion speed are big.
