The research and development of hydraulic pump and motor need the performance and life test. The performance test of high-power hydraulic pump and motor, life test of hydraulic pump and motor in long time, overload test etc, there will be a lot of energy consumption in the fever and that is inevitable, it would also need the cooling equipment to cool hydraulic equipment. Therefore, in order to reduce energy consumption and make full use of energy, considering the power recovery problem is necessary.Hydraulic power components’performance test based on the hydraulic power recovery method is a new engineering technology; it is concerned by more and more people. The advantages of this method are energy saving and reducing test cost effectively. This paper discusses on the experimental study on performance of hydraulic pump/motor based on the power recovery methods, the main contents include the following aspects:(1) Reviewing related research, focuses on the structure, working principle and some basic theoretical problem of the test system based on series and parallel hydraulic compensation power recovery method。(2) Reforming the test system in the laboratory, making the electric and hydraulic system meet the performance test of hydraulic pump/motor based on power recovery methods requirements.(3) Finishing experiment, consolidating test data and summarizing test results.
