Since the21st century, with the development of power grid, the disadvantages of traditional large-scale power grid have become increasingly prominent. Considering the fact that in recent years there have been several blackouts throughout the world and that the energies relied on by traditional power grid are in shortage, it has become an important subject as to how to utilize renewable green energy more efficiently. The birth of Microgrid not only helps relieve the pressure of energy shortage, but can also improve the reliability of power grid.In a Microgrid system, a reliable and safe operation of the Microgrid requires the coordination control of several DGs, and different control structure has different advantages and disadvantages. This thesis first analyzes three control strategies, namely peer-to-peer mode, master-slave control, and hierarchical control, and summarizes their advantages and disadvantages, and then focuses on the control strategy of hierarchical control and, through MATLAB stimulation, further verifies the advantages of hierarchical control. Since in hierarchical control, each hierarchy has its own objects and characteristics, and has different requirements for the response time, the thesis suggests the scale of response time of each hierarchy, and lays foundations for future communication system designs.The control of Microgrid depends on a reliable communication system, so communication system is also very important. Based on the characteristics of Microgrid communication, the thesis proposes that Microgrid communication system can be constructed according to the Ethernet IEC61850communication protocol. First, conduct the modeling of the Microgrid communication system according to IEC61850communication protocol, and then, according to the hierarchical control structure’s requirement for different response time, choose GOOSE communication protocol for the primary control, and MSS communication protocol for the secondary and tertiary control. In order to monitor the operation of Microgrid system more intuitively during the commissioning process, the thesis uses Lab VIEW and PLC to design a data acquisition system to cooperate with the construction of the Microgrid.
