Along with the continuous development of china’s economic construction, People’s living standards rise ceaselessly, The urbanization process is faster and faster, which making a lot of people into cities. People made an outstanding contribution to the construction of urbanization, at the same time, it also brings a lot of problems. The contradiction between the increase of population and the city in the limited land resource is increasingly prominent. Therefore, the development of high-rise building structure not only is the requirement of the times, but also become an important way to resolve the contradiction. And in many high-rise building structural system, shear wall structure is widely used in residential construction because of its space force performance and lateral stiffness, and provide an important means to solve the housing problems of the urban population.To a residential building in Handan City, Hebei Province as an engineering example, the application of performance-based seismic design method to design the structure. Application of performance based seismic design method of structure design. The first application software PKPM elastic structural design analysis. Then introduces the application of PKPM series software for structural design of the general steps, and the design of the software parameters were analyzed, by choosing proper parameters and structure and system design. On the application of the PKPM series software design problems were analyzed, the application of the software for the engineering design personnel were designed to provide a certain reference value.This article introduce systematic the analysis of Pushover basic principle, and its application to engineering practice. In this paper, based on the project of Pushover analysis, it is concluded that the shear wall structure in the earthquake fortification level of seismic performance, and to evaluate the seismic performance of the structure under rare earthquake.
