GluBam, as a kind of new building material, through a large number ofexperiments indicate that it has good basic mechanical performance, can be used as akind of structure material in building structure field. Modern bamboo structure isglued to bamboo as main materials, the application of the modern structure theory andthe formation of a new structure, but the gluing bamboo as the main structuralmaterial of modern bamboo structure about durability and environmental performancestudies are still lacking, which to some extent hindered the development of modernbamboo. This thesis uses ultraviolet artificial accelerated aging methods to study theadhesion bamboo weathering performance, and influence of pitch paint, glass fibercloth two protection material on the performance of the aging. The paper also ongluing bamboo formaldehyde release was climate box test and analysis, obtainedformaldehyde release of the gluing bamboo in different conditions.First of all, an artificial accelerated aging test method for GluBam have beenpresented, and accelerated aging time is selected climatic conditions of Changsha as areference, with principle for total of irradiation equivalent to to determine. The basicmaterial performance, including deformation changing, tensile properties,compressive properties, bending properties and internal bonding strength, are testedaccording to the accelerated aging duration of12days,24days and48days, andobtained variation of the physical and mechanical performance with the aging time.The research of each other’s relation with mechanical properties showed the linearcorrelation between internal bonding strength with other’s material performance andthickness.Secondly, two protection material, the pitch paint and glass fiber cloth, arestudied for influence to aging performance of GluBam. The article is mainly topresent an accelerated aging test with specimens which cutting plane is edge treatmentwith pitch paint and glass fiber cloth. Aging results were gotten in the two conditions,and compared to samples in without any protection materials, it’s concluded that edgetreatment can obviously improve mechanical properties of GluBam after acceleratedaging, and the effect of the glass fiber cloth was better than the pitch paint.Finally, the research of formaldehyde emission from GluBam sheet by climatebox test is presented in this thesis. The formaldehyde concentration released fromGluBam were evaluated under different environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity and edge treatment. A first-order decay model was built to get the decay lawof formaldehyde emission from GluBam. It provides a proof to reduce effectively theformaldehyde emission from GluBam..
