High-rise building is an important symbol of the city’s economic prosperity andsocial progress. People offen linked the skyscrapers with international metropolis such as Chicago and New York, indicating that high-rise building society in shaping the image of the city has an indelible contribution.From a technical perspective, the advances in modern high-rise building construction, thanks to the development of mechanical analysis and computing technology, also thanks to advances of structural design and construction technology, and thanks to the contribution of mechanical and electronic technology.The design of high-rise buildings is more complicated than that of low-rise building. On the force characteristics of structure, the lateral loads (wind loads and earthquake) in the analysis and design of high-rise buildings plays an important role, especially in high-rise buildings play a major role. Therefore, high-rise building structural analysis and design are more complicated than those of moderate-rise or low-rise buildings.In the paper, the development of high-rise building structure in history, structural systems in common use and their character, methods of analysis and the values of lateral load, the basic methods for structure calculation and analysis in lateral loads and their development trends are introduced.Study for the structural design of a high-rise building in Qingdao is carried out, and the key points and difficulties in calculation and analysis are described in the paper, which are the following:(1) Cylinder-thin column frame structure lateral force resisting systemThe most important issue for design of a high-rise building is selecting the appropriate lateral force structural system. By analyzing and comparing cylinder-thin column frame structure lateral force resisting system, a reasonable solution for the project is selected.(2) Design parameters of the wind loadFor the height of high-rise buildings and the complicated outer surface, the impact of wind-induced vibration of building and partial pressure parameter to calculate a retaining structure design are needed to get by wind tunnel tests and wind-induced vibration calculations based on the tests.(3)Performance-based seismic designPerformance-based seismic design is a development trend of seismic design theory, the performance-based seismic design and analysis methods are used for the project,proposed the reasonable seismic performance objectives for the overall structure and components.And by introducing dynamic elastoplastic analysis of the process and results of the structural design of a reasonable proposal, to achieve the goal of better(4) Structural analysis of nonlinear effects influenceEffects of concrete creep and shrinkage analysis, and on this basis, take appropriate structural measures, the construction of measures to deal with and reduce the impact of various non-load effect, to ensure structural safety, reliability.
