114500DWT bulk carrier was independent designed and built by Shanghai Shipyard Co.Ltd.(originally called Shanghai Shipyard) and Shanghai Merchant Ship Design&ResearchInstitute (SDARI) which have the complete intellectual property. The bulk carrier is a newship that built by Shanghai Shipyard for export. It can pass the Panama Canal and has a goodadaptability for world ports. So that it has a broad market prospects. Shanghai Shipyard madea great study in the ship design and building technology in order to fit the actual produce ofShanghai Shipyard and modern shipbuilding trend.The weight of hull is controlled through optimizing hull production design and selectionof equipment. Optimizing accuracy shipbuilding technology makes accuracy shipbuildingmanagement system more comprehensive and perfective. The task of approximately60%ofthe sub-margin manufacturing has been achieved. Using new technology the fullimplementation of the new welding technology such as efficient CO2gas welding and sidewelding. Through optimizing combination of hull, outfitting, painting can realize the “spacelanes, time ordered” dimensional optimization sort. Through the application of the abovethree main technology,the fast construction technology and greatly shorten the constructioncycle could reduce the time of construction cycle greatly at the same time.Research and application the total duration of the construction technology and integrateproduction facilities and resources scientifically have broken through the bottle neck of alarge folded. After assembly, slipway lifts were reduced from227to64. Connections of maindeck were reduced to49lifts. The new developments have expanded the capacity ofshipbuilding.Application of KCS to determine the external load was carried out. Using Nauticus finiteelement software Hull determined the feasibility study of overweight ship berth launching.The further optimization of launching project could be done in next step.
