With the yearly increase in the number of cars, safety of child occupants has become animportant vehicle safety research topic. Once a collision occurs, child occupant’s body will beseverely damaged. Research shows that compared to the use of adult seat belts and the way ofembrace, child safety seat is the most effective means to reduce or avoid accidental injuries.In China, the research of child safety seat is in its early stages so domestic manufacturersusually have to rely on the support of foreign manufacturers. Therefore, carrying out relatedresearch on car child safety seats has an important economic value and social significance.With the rapid development of computer technology, research on child seat crash performanceis no longer limited expensive practical impact test and finite element simulation tools havebecome one of indispensable research methods.In the study, I take a selected child safety seat made in domestic and build the FEsimulation model based on ECER/4regulations. Using the non-linear finite element softwareLS-DYNA, article conducts the simulation of the collision performance of car child safetyseat and gets the data such as dummy movement patterns、head acceleration and chestacceleration. The details are as follows:Firstly, based on the prototype of a child seat models, establish of a complete finiteelement model of the corresponding child seat by the step of geometry cleanup, meshing,assembly connection and so on. At the same time, according to standard of ECER/4, I buildthe finite element model of the trolleySecondly, the required1.5years old dummy finite element model is rebuilded by scalinga6years old model. Then, seatbelt model is builded in PRIMER environment and assembledinto a complete child occupant restraint system.Thirdly, the fix of the child seat is realized by appropriate loading, with the output of thedeformation and stress case file in the final steady state. We take the steady state as the initialcondition of crash simulation analysis of the child seat.Finally, the collision based on ECER/4dynamic test environment implemented by usingLS-DYNA.The article analyzes the response of movement patterns of dummy and changes in dummy head and chest acceleration, and verifies the crash performance with combinationwith regulations.The subject provides an effective method to evaluate the crash performance of childsafety seat for the related enterprises in the product design stage.
