The Design And Study On Crash Simulation Of Multifunction Child Safety Seat

Chinese auto industry is developing quickly due to the growth of national economy. However, the attendant security issues have become increasingly prominent, especially the safety of children taking cars, which has gained more and more concern in society. Currently, the penetration rate of child safety seat in China is rather low, and there still exists a gap between domestic and foreign child safety seats in function and reliability. Meanwhile, relevant laws and regulations are not specific enough. The existing child safety seat has the disadvantages of single function, large size and not easy to carry. Additionally, child safety seat needs to be placed in the trunk when not in use, taking up a lot of space. Against this background, a multifunctional child safety seat suitable for 3 to 12 years old is developed in this paper.Child safety seat designed in this paper can be installed in a handcart. Not only can this kind of child seat ensure the safety of children, but also can be used as handcart in outdoors. In addition, the base and backrest of this multifunctional child safety seat are detachable, therefore, remove the backres, the base can serve as booster seat when necessary.Three-dimensional model of multifunctional child safety seat is constructed by CATIA three-dimension modeling software and the finite element model is established through Hypermesh. According to testing regulations of our country, the paper studies the protective effect of child safety seat in collision via crash simulation analysis adopted by MADYMO software.The results indicate that multifunctional child safety seat designed in this paper can protect child occupants effectively in a crash and have sufficient strength. This research results have reference value for domestic study on multifunctional child safety seat.
