Research On The Park Landscape Space Based On The Female Psychology And Behavior

In the history of human development, women played an important role in all phases ofhuman civilization and social development. No matter in ancient matriarchal society or intoday’s information age, women have been propelling the social civilization developmentwith their own diligence and wisdom. However, it is a hard and grieved procedure for womenfrom the pursuit that “Male are superior to female” to “Everyone is equal”. Nowadays theidea of equality of men and women is widely approved, but many designs have ignored thedifferences which are caused by the difference between male and female. In park landscapedesign, it designs with men’s standards, treating men and women without distinction, ignoringgender differences in physiology, psychology and demands for space. Since lots of spacessetted improperly, women feel fear. Without perfect facilities, women deeply feelinconvenient… Therefore research on park landscape space based on female psychology andbehavior has important theoretical value and practical significance. The study on parklandscape space based on female psychology and behavior will help to arouse the designers’regard for women, fulfilling women’s special needs and making the design truly embody“humanization”, and help to realize the real “equality” between men and women.The used needs of women to park and the evaluation of women to park landscape spaceare carried out via literature research, site observation, questionnaire investigation and factoranalysis in the paper. Enclosed women’s employ requirements and women to the parklandscape space evaluation the paper carries out study according to ignoring genderdifferences and women special needs in park landscape design. The results obtained from theresearch are discussed as follows.1. By investigating women’s activities and landscape preferences orientation, it obtainswomen’s using demand for park including physiological needs, security needs, publiccommunication requirements, the demand of realizing self-value and cognition and beautydemand. At present, women using to park focus on lower demand, but have a strong desire forthe higher level emotional needs. 2. The19factors affecting women’ evaluation to park landscape are analyzed, and thestudy shows that landscape facility quantity and kinds factor, landscape facility comfort factor,landscape space rationality factor, landscape space safety factor, landscape aesthetic feelingdegree factor and landscape sketch beauty degree factor are the main factors affectingwomen’s evaluation to park landscape. Therefore, improvements of park design should bemade from the six factors, making the construction of park landscape space meet women’sneeds.3. The paper discussed how to construct the landscape space to meet women’s demandfrom comfort, sentiment and safety three aspects, and it discussed the main points of parklandscape design based on women’s psychological behavior.The innovation of this paper is discussed as follows.1. By factor analysis six common factors affecting women’s evaluation obtainedincluding landscape facility quantity and kinds factor, landscape facility comfort factor,landscape space rationality factor, landscape space safety factor, landscape aesthetic feelingdegree factor and landscape sketch beauty degree factor. In the park design the six aspectsshould be mainly considered to meet women’s demands.2. It puts forward related suggestions from comfort, sentiment and safety three aspects toconstruct landscape space meeting women’s psychological and behavior demand on the basisof empirical analysis. And it hopes to provide scientific basis for the planning of urban parks.
