In this regard, this article takes Shanghai century park as the main research object, to provide a powerful supplement for the study of Plant configuration design on tour trail.This paper, combines the literatures and on-the-spot investigations, adopts the method of generalizations and typical case to inductive tour trail plant configuration design principles and methods.Firstly, analysis the whole plant configuration characteristics of Shanghai century park.The species of plant in Shanghai century park is divided into two parts——Jingtian lake wetland area and Periphery high-forest area, The distinction of two ares are the trees and bushes. After analyzing the whole characteristics, analyze each concrete type on the base of classifications of the sample tour trails, and then summarize the characteristics of Such plant configuration:Plant of tour trails nearby water discloses the landscape behind them; mountain tour trail plant highlights the topography; the forest tour trail plant has strong decorative sense; the lawn tour trail plant highlights the sense of space.Secondly, after analyzing the effect of plant to the visitors’ cognition, from the user’s point of view, take the plant configuration and the surrounding environment as considerations. The shape, color, position of plants will affect the visitors’cognition of size and emotions that a building conveys. Plant and mountains create the " shelter-set off " relationship, the disclose, shelter and creat landscapes increase the water landscape level.
