Social housing is one of the most important livelihood issues in our country at this stage. The central and local governments have been very concerned about the construction of social housing and will dedicate into it. In the massive wave of social housing construction, the construction of social housing in Zhejiang is also in full swing. However, in recent years,"the red line of18hundred million mu arable land" has been restricting the development of domestic cities. Meanwhile, major cities have emerged tensions on lack of construction land, and the land shortage problem is increasingly apparent. The major topic of this paper is how to achieve intensive land use in construction of social housing.Against the current situation and problems encountered in Construction of social housing, this paper will propose some methods and strategies to deal with them, by investigating the development process and policies of social housing in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and the UK, and by learning good experiences of these countries and regions. In order to improve intensive utilization of domestic social housing construction land, complete the system and specify the standards, this paper will put forward some advices on raising the intensity of utilization of the construction land of social housing, and be a valuable reference to Zhejiang standard of social housing.
