Since the implementation of reforming and opening-up policy, with the rapid development of our economy and the continued urbanization advancement, it brings the construction project scale gradually expand in scale and be more complicated in structure. However, the decreasing work efficiency has become one of the major obstacles to efficient development of Chinese construction industry. In recent years, with the gradual increasing of large construction projects in our country, in the face of the increasing complexity of modern engineering projects, the risk also becomes non any one party can control, the relationship among all project participants and the influence to project is gradually expanding. In this case, the traditional procurement model which all parties of project is separated hasn’t apparently adapt the modern project changing, so it need a new organizational structure to improve efficiency,In order to solve the above problems, the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is proposed as a new procurement mode. With its unique multi-agreement, the key participants are organized in the early design stage to participate in the project work. They will share the project risks and benefits. It could promote the participation of mutual cooperation among all key participants and reach the goal of achieving the optimization of project results and enhancing the working efficiency of the objective by this way. On the basis of Building Information Model (BIM) technology in the application and promotion of our country, the IPD model is more likely to succeed. Through the use of3D model instead of the traditional2D documents and drawings for the information carriers, which can solve many problems during the implementation process of IPD mode, improve the efficiency of information transmission. In this context, in order to systematically and clearly analysis the IPD mode, I have used the methods of literatures research, qualitative investigation and case study. By introducing of the research status and development of the IPD mode and BIM technology, and analyzing the superiority compared to the IPD model, the author put forward the important role of the scope of application of IPD mode and BIM technology for its succeed. The thesis is arranged as follows:Chapter1is exordium, firstly, it briefly introduces the research background, elaborated this article research significance; secondly, it introduces briefly the research actuality at China and abroad BIM and IPD, and explains the research ideas and research content. The second chapter mainly introduces the concept of BIM, stated that the concept of BIM of this paper is BIM technology, and then introduces the characteristics of BIM model, which is convenient for the following analysis. The core content of this paper is started from the third chapter, the third chapter introduces the concept and characteristics of IPD mode, takes the definition which AIA given in2007as the interpretation of the IPD mode. It compared the differences between IPD model and other procurement model, and introduces its unique Single Purpose Entity. Then it analyze that IPD is more likely to succeed which kind of project, and obstacles which will happen in the implementation process. Finally, I would analyze the connection between BIM and IPD, through the comparison of the BIM among different procurement modes should be used to reflect the degree of IPD model for BIM significance, and then analyze how the implement of BIM technology will help the success of IPD model. The fourth chapter will mainly analyze the concrete implementation of the IPD model. It will analyze the implementation methods of IPD model and the applications of BIM in the article of general project delivery process (design-built-operation). In order to avoid too long, only give detailed analysis to the different parts. Considering the importance of the design phase of the project, the analysis will focus on the design stage. The first one is to the analysis of the establishment of IPD team and BIM team. And then, it will extract the project value system, determine the project’s target cost according to the value system and other project objectives. The value system and target cost will be seen as the IPD team profitable reference standards. The last one is the analysis and evaluation of design scheme. As the project has basically been finalized after the design stage, construction and operation stages just make the simple analysis. Although the operation stage does not belong to the category of IPD mode strictly because of it have been delivered, in part of the work, the results of the design and construction of IPD team for operation stage is still as a big role, so this paper will take it into the IPD analysis. The fifth chapter is the introduction and analysis of the case, using a typical IPD case which released by the AIA-the United States Gary of California’s Sutter Castro Valley Medical Center office building (Sutter Medical Center). It will carries on the detailed analysis of the case combine with the research results of the former chapters. The main content of this part is about the choosing of procurement mode and IPD members, the exacting of value system, the determining of target cost and the applications of BIM in the case. In the end, according to the successful implementation, I will make the following comments on the implementation of IPD mode in China by my point of view. Conclusion and outlook, chapter sixth is the end of this article, is mainly summarizing the whole paper combs, the results of this study, and prospects for the future.By the studying of this paper, it deemed that the IPD model is suitable for implementation in large, complex projects, and that the using of BIM technology has a great influence on IPD succeed.
