With the rapid development of computer technology, Thermal power plant information management level continuously improve. strengthening the monitoring and information management of production equipment and Creating a modern thermal power plant operation management system becoming a major concern for most of the thermal power plant management. Therefore, discussing the application of the thermal power plant operation management system for the energy increasingly prominent contradiction between supply and demand situation is of great significance in China.The embedded intelligent gateway is introduced in this paper in order to meet the requirements of thermal power plant information management. This article first analyzes the thermal power plant current information management practices. Then thermal power plant operation and management is proposed based on embedded intelligent gateway. Through the embedded intelligent gateway uses the many kinds of communication way to control thermal power plant equipment and uploaded to the control center. In order to improve thermal power plant operation and management ability. The characteristics of the embedded intelligent gateway includes the ability to upload issued; quickly process the data; the data storage function.This paper completed the construction of the system development environment, software design and hardware design of the embedded intelligent gateway. Select Linux as the operating system. It has the development characteristics of the source program. Hardware using samsung S3C2440as the core of the company. It is in the industrial Ethernet as main controller of intelligent node and is the core of the embedded gateway. Peripherals including storage system design, power circuit design and Ethernet module circuit design, design of CAN bus module, serial interface circuit design, etc. Software firstly to complete the construction of the system platform, including Bootloader, Linux to transplant and root file system. Secondly, completed the software design of CAN bus and Ethernet module and GPRS module software design. Finally, the system of simple network tests and analyzes the test results.
