Influence Of Natural Environment On The Space Layout Of Rural Settlements--in The Case Of New Rural Construction In Chengdu Area

In the background of rapid development of social economy and urbanization, lots of changes have taken place in the traditional rural settlement. In the meantime, for eliminating the difference between the urban and rural area, the state has formulated a series of policies to promote the integration of urban and rural development and new rural construction work. The study how to guide rural settlement development in the new situation has a great significance. Based on architecture, sociology, rural geography and habitat environmental science, the discipline of rural settlement space layout in Sichuan area is studied, as well as how does environment effect the rural settlement space layout. The study clarifies the important significance of harmonious coexistence of environment and settlement to rural settlement construction work, summarizes the coping mechanism against the existing issues, and provides a theoretical basis to guide the continuous development of rural settlement and optimize the structure of space layout.Rural settlement is a space structure formed in the long-term agricultural and social development, including three part of nature, production, and living environment. It is a unity of internal harmony and high complex. The theory of formation and development of rural settlement and the theory of evolution of farmer living form has been understand. Taking comparison of settlement space layout and development characteristics forming in the different natural environment as the starting point, relying on current new rural construction situation and the typical problems appearing in Pingba and Chengdu district, the effects to rural planning and layout from immediate natural environment factors, such as terrain, climate, geology, water resource, and indirect factors, including location, transportation, living style, population, economy, policy, are analyzed. The aim of this study is to find out the inherent laws of specific settlement form, summarize action mechanism, and clarify the great significance of natural environment factors to new rural construction work. At the same time, combined with current situation of new rural planning and design in Chengdu area, summarize the issues resulted in by the ignoring the natural environment in some place, clarifying the surface phenomenon and defect of issues and presenting the relative design strategies and work ideas. The purpose of this research is to perfect the development model of rural settlement, to ameliorate the quality of living space, to promote the coordinated development of settlement development and environment, and to improve the rationality and suitability of planning and design.
