With the construction of rapid passenger railway network, more and more local and trans-regional passenger flow gathered transferred and distributed in big city. At the same time, the introduction of passenger dedicated lines and interurban railways separate original comprehensive railway junction into one equipped with cargo belt lines and marshalling stations, which specialized in cargo transportation, another centralized in passenger transportation with comprehensive railway terminal. In order to fulfill the increase of demand and the request of transportation service quality, the layout and operation of Passenger specialized Railway Junction (PSRJ) should be optimized. The capacity of PSRJ will be tested by the high density of arrival\departure and through trains rapid operated in the junction net. For the purpose of safe efficient operation and the sustainable development of railway system, the systematic study of distribution and capacity coordination of facilities in PSRJ is necessary.This thesis is based on the railway terminal planning and design standards, train passenger operation organization theory, system engineering and computer technology. Integration with urban transit, thesis focuses on the distribution and operation scheme of stations, lines, and servicing facilities in PSRJ. The optimized scheme of trains operated in PSRJ is calculated as the base of quantization of coordination degree among the facilities in PSRJ.The present paper generalizes and summarizes principles of layout and arrangement among facilities in PRSJ. According to capacity structure of junction, it enumerates reasonable method to compute all facilities" capacity and un-equilibrium of train timetable caused by the passenger flow fluctuation, and influence of fluctuation on PSRJ capacity.The present thesis analyzes details of capacity coordination of facilities in PSRJ and establish math model for the base of study-reasonable scheme of arrangement of station operation content and path of operating trains. With the consideration of possibility of passengers transfer in urban transit, the model is designed to minimize the cost of all passengers with travel demand. The model is constrained by the capacity of stations and lines, with the function to find the weakness of junction facilities. For both arrangement of stations operation content and allocation of routes of trains models, considering railway operations features, an exact step-by-step algorithm based on linear programming is designed to compute solutions accurately. After this, detailed quantities’methods is given to measure coordinate degree among facilities (stations and lines, stations and servicing facilities, lines and lines) in the scheme. Then thesis applies above research on Wuhan Railway Junction planning. The result demonstrates that the proposed method can reasonable arrange facilities in station to make it match the demand of passenger flow. Some advices based on the computation are provided to help planning and design of junction, also with operation adjustment in the future.
