The main content of this study is about identification and reinforcement technology of existing buildings. As our country’s building land is so limited, the existing buildings cannot meet the current need, earthquake disasters cause potential risk to the existing buildings and accidental action causes damages to some links of buildings, which make the existing buildings need urgent reinforcement and repair, and make building’s storey-adding and reinforcement technology develop with high speed in our country. So the issue about reinforcement and repair of the existing buildings which the government departments and the construction industry pay much attention to has become a widely followed and researched problem. There are many factors that can influence the existing buildings’reinforcement, such as different structure forms, different difficulties in construction, different requirements of reinforcement, different using conditions in later process, etc.Reliability analysis comes the first in the process of reinforcement of existing buildings. The reliability analysis is based on the information service of existing buildings and infers the reliability of the building’s remaining service period in light of the former information service. Currently the more commonly used methods of reliability assessment of existing buildings are: traditional identification method, fuzzy evaluation method, practical evaluation method, probability evaluation method, reliability analysis using PKPM and so on. This study compares the advantages and disadvantages of several common identification techniques and their scope of application, and then through the analysis of two actual engineering projects, compares several common reliability evaluation technology with PKPM, proving that PKPM has the better operability、higher speed and more scientific than the above several common reliability evaluation technology. The existing buildings have some particularities on reinforcements that new buildings don’t have: its construction site is very narrow, construction is limited and it needs higher construction technology in the junction of new and old buildings. Currently the mostly used reinforcement technologies are:increased cross-section reinforcement method, stick steel strengthening method, paste the carbon fiber composite reinforcement method, steel mesh composite mortar strengthening method, steel mesh mortar reinforcement method, steel wire mesh composite mortar reinforced method, Coat steel frame reinforced method and so on. These methods have their own advantages and disadvantages respectively. This paper studies the characteristics of several common reinforcement techniques and their scopes of application, and through the analysis of a reinforced concrete column, compares steel mesh composite mortar reinforced method with sets of hoop reinforcement technique in construction technology and the improving of bearing capacity. Then, with the help of Guang-Lianda, this paper compares these two methods’cost on the reinforcement of reinforced concrete column. At last, from the aspects of bearing capacity and stiffness enhancement and cost, this paper proves that steel wire mesh composite mortar strengthening technology has the advantages of more reasonable and efficient, more economic and more meaningful popularization and application than those other methods. This article also through a case, a dining room’s add layer reinforcement compares several commonly used layer-adding methods and draws the conclusion:the reinforcement of steel reinforced concrete structure with steel frame outside has the advantage of some special reinforcement engineering and actual promotion significance.
