By adopting field bus control technology and establishing intelligent, digital, transparent, large thermal power plants, it represents the highest level of automation control system development in current industrial process control field.The paperdescribes the development status quo of the fieldbus technology and introduces the current application of power plantsdomestic and overseas and several kinds of fieldbus standards in the coal-fired power plant, such as:PROFIBUS, HART, ASI and so on. In this paper, through the analysis of the characteristics of the field bus technology, application conditions in coal-fired power plant, comparation with the conventional schemes of investment, etc., it puts forward application scope, application principle and application solutions about the usage of field bus technology in the coal-fired power plant, which lays a good foundation for the international first-class large-scale coal-fired power plants.According to the research of fieldbus technology and economy, the paper gives the overall design scheme and control scheme of the luoyuan bay port electricity project, and introduces the shenhualuoyuan bay port electricity2xl000mw unit control by hollysys company HOLLIAS coal-fired power plants-MACS system platform and the practical application of PROFIBUS fieldbus standard.By technical and economic analysis and practical application design, it can be concluded that the application of the field bus technology will bring the whole life cycle of the coordination control and digital design, installation, commissioning, operation maintenance cost savings, such as favorable factors, thus an increase in investment should be acceptable. With the sufficient attention in system reliability, real-time and the effect of operation faults, it lists the potential problems from engineering in the process of design, construction, commissioning and analyzes them in order to take feasible measures to ensure that bus DCS localization application security, reliability and advanced nature of shenhua (fuzhou) millions of luoyuan bay port electricity project unit, which make the unit control box of digital level have reached the domestic leading level for thermal power unit and achieve the goal of building" digital power plant". Meanwhile, it also provides the reference for the domestic power plants in the project.
