With the development of the automobile technology, people set high demands on theperformance of vehicle. As an important transport tool, the performance of commercialvehicle is gradually improved. One reason that automatic transmission technology applied incommercial vehicles, played an important role in improving the dynamic and comfort of thevehicle, prolonging the service life of the drive train and reducing the driver’s fatigue. As anindividual component in the vehicle, clutch has an irreplaceable role in the transmissionsystem. The performance of a clutch is good or bad, directly determines the effect evaluationin the starting and shift process. Research and develop a clutch with good performancemakes great influence in the development of automobile automatic transmission technology.Multi-disc wet clutch has the advantages of combining soft, low noise and long servicelife. Therefore, it has been widely used in the automatic transmission now. The focus of thispaper is the study of the commercial vehicles starting process which equipped with muti-discwet clutch. This paper associated with wet clutch and based on the actual parameter ofcommercial vehicle, accomplished the modeling and simulation analysis. The specificcontent mainly includes the following aspects:(1) Simulation modeling and analysis the binding properties of wet clutch. Manydifferent researches were carried out. Divide the process of combination into different stages.Simulation in a particular situation and the simulation result are analyzed. There are manyreasons makes a difference to the performance of wet clutch, this paper analysis the influenceof groove for the wet clutch combination features.(2) Analysis the demand of vehicle starting process. On the basis of summarizing thevarious relevant factors in the process of start, established the mathematical model of engine,clutch torque, driving resistance and clutch engagement process.(3) Based on the mathematical model, using the parameters of the commercial vehicleand the wet clutch, full vehicle assembly were built. Simulation analysis the influence ofimpact extent and friction work when one factor changes in the starting process. (4) Combined with the commercial vehicle starting conditions, set the related functionsof impact extent and friction work as the objective function. Optimized on the performanceparameters of wet clutch, the optimization results are obtained and the simulation isconducted before and after the optimization of objective function.
