Cover vehicle is one of the most important part of the car, including the inner covermember and the outer covering member, the body surface of the car, the engine housing,chassis cover all vehicles. Car cover molding mainly through the stamping process tocomplete, so the quality and stamping die design cycle, and a direct impact on the quality ofthe production cycle of the car cover. With the development of CAD technology, peoplehave to work from a variety of designs to be transplanted by hand drawing on computerdesign, three-dimensional CAD software can be visually reflects the structure of the designof the product. Currently automobile covering parts of the mold during the design, which isdesigned by three-dimensional CAD software. But for now, a variety of three-dimensionalCAD software offers mostly basic functions, namely to draw a three-dimensional diagramof the basic functions, resulting in making mold design, required for each part needs to beredesigned. Through this design mold can cause inefficiency, long mold design cycle,resulting in the entire product from design to long down line cycles. Although each of thedifferent products, which has a corresponding mold, but the component parts of the moldstructure, with its unique criteria, which in the mold design process can be directly used forthe assembly, without the need to be designed the. So it can be carried out in the CADsoftware will handle these standard building a database, thereby making the mold assembly,retrieval can be used directly to improve the design efficiency of the mold. Based on this,the paper mainly studies the use of CATIA software, how to build auto cover bending moldstandard parts library.First, the system provides an overview of the importance of automotive panel die inthe automotive industry, and recalls its development process, and describes the variousdevelopment history of standard parts library, pointing out the type and standard partslibrary in the platform on which be established. Also briefly describes the use of CATIAsoftware to establish standard parts libraries. Secondly, the use of the three methods described in detail CATIA software, building adatabase of systematic exposition of the steps of building a database of these three methods,while comparing the advantages and disadvantages of these three methods, and then selecta method of building a database, within the hexagonal screws Case Study describes indetail the process of building a database and successfully established a library. Andsuccessfully transferred from the library took part.Finally, the car carried a cover mold design, analysis of this part of the process todevelop a reasonable processing methods to design reasonable mold.
