The automatic cartoning machine is widely used in food, medicine, chemical industry, daily necessities, electronic products, etc. At present, Most of the automatic cartoning machines made in our country are developed through assimilating and digesting the technology of imported equipment. Compared with the similar products, there is still a large gap between domestic and overseas in quality, reliability, adaptability and efficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the automatic cartoning machine in higher comprehensive performance.Based on the university-institute cooperation project "Design and Optimization of the Pushing Mechanism in Automatic Cartoning Machine", the paper aims at developing a kind of hot melt adhesive automatic cartoning machine, in which the author mainly finished the following work:First of all, this paper introduces the working principle and technology process of the automatic cartoning machine, discusses the development situation of the automatic cartoning machines in domestic and overseas, points out the existing problems in the domestic automatic cartoning machines, and puts forward the general design scheme of the automatic cartoning machine.Secondly, combined with the actual production situation of the enterprise, this paper puts forward the general requirements of the taking and opening box mechanism, and fulfills the choice of the silo structure type, the overall design of the silo, and the calculation of the key parts on the basis of the main design parameters. Then, this paper analyzes the working principle of the taking and opening box mechanism and carries on the design and calculation of the mechanism. In addition, as the actuator of the taking and opening box mechanism, the vacuum sucker size is selected based on the calculation of the suction force and the sucker diameter.Thirdly, this paper compares and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the original pushing mechanism, then proposes the cam-linkages mechanism combination in series as a new pushing mechanism scheme. According to the movement of the pusher slide mechanism, this paper reverses to solve the cam contour curve by applying the kinematics, and makes some real and effective kinematic simulation to the solved cam mechanism with SolidWorks Motion, which gets the slider movement characteristic curve, verifies the accuracy of the cam profile required. Then, this paper finishes the contact force calculation and strength checking of the cam pair, which further illustrates the pushing mechanism design reasonable. Then, according to the general sealing process of the carton, this paper proposes the structure scheme of the sealing carton device, designs and analyzes the main parts.Then, this paper makes the static structure analysis and topology shape optimization design to the rack structure with the FEA software, which proves that the rack structure designed by the traditional experience or analogy method satisfies the requirement of strength and has larger optimization allowance. Next, on the basis of the results of finite element analysis, considering the simplicity of manufacture process, this paper determines the optimal design scheme of the rack structure and checks the strength and stiffness of the optimized rack structure. Through the optimization of the rack structure, the quality of the rack is decreased by20.5%and the economic benefit is remarkable.Finally, this paper completes the module partition and modeling of the automatic cartoning machine by the principle and method of the module function partition, then finishes the virtual assembly and physical figure validation of the automatic cartoning machine.The taking and opening box mechanism, pushing mechanism, sealing carton device,the rack designed by the paper have been applied to the enterprise’s actual production, and have achieved the expected effect.
