Currently in China, the freeway management has lagged on the freewayconstruction, causing the freeway speed is not rapid, and it has become a commonfeeling of many road users; accidents have occurred, causing huge loss of life andproperty. Seriousness of these problems has been highlighted in the gradual process offreeway construction and management. The government regulators solve theseproblems by constructing freeway information project. Freeway plays a pivotal role intransportation, yet the overall design awareness in constructing freeway intelligentinformation platform is lacking, resources between different systems can not beshared and so on. Based on above, it’s very valuable to carry out the design and theoverall planning studies of freeway intelligent information platform.Therefore at first, the paper introduces the current application status and trendsand the related core technology in domestic and international freeway intelligenttransportation information platform, and the related core technology includes themulti-source information perception and the condition monitoring, which raisedproblems of the current platform, and then proposed research meaning and purpose.This article should fully consider the overall efficiency of a platform, adopting atop-down and bottom-up approach to design platform architecture, including thelogical framework and the physical framework.When analyzing at closer range the key technology of freeway intelligent trafficinformation platform based on car networking, pay emphasis on the highwayreal-time vehicle sensing technology and build the identification algorithm based onthe vehicle networking and ID3; finally, taking data of serious traffic accident inDezhou for example, realize the platform simulation combined with paramicssoftware. Thereby effectively solve many problems those exist in intelligenttransportation construction in China, and provide a valuable reference for the future ofhighway intelligent construction.
