Pedestrian traffic is an important part of urban traffic system, and the walking people are the most puny in the traffic with vehicles. Especially at intersections and road sections where there the pedestrian is very crowded, many conflicts exist among pedestrians, vehicles and non-motorized vehicles. In urban road crossing, large number of pedestrians chooses crossing illegally, which results not only threat to their safety, and also badly affect traffic running efficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to find out the patterns pedestrian violations and analyze the traffic characteristics and behavior characteristics. As a result it enhances their traffic safety and eases the traffic flow.Taking typical plane signalized intersection and road in Chengdu as survey place and developing a detailed survey plan by using the camera and manual survey to obtain the information. The pedestrian violations are classified based on survey data. It analyzes the influence factors of crossing form the pedestrian characteristics, vehicle, and environment.Various influence factors were simplified by using factor analysis method, and the main factors were extracted to5common factors, road infrastructure, time characteristics, traffic flow, group characteristics, and individual characteristics. The choice model of pedestrian violation behavior in signal intersection and road are constructed by adopting multiple logistic regression model and the model parameters were calibrated, the main influencing factors in pedestrian crossing are analyzed through statistical software. The test and evaluation of model parameters show that the model can explain characteristics of pedestrian crossing behavior very good.Based on the above analysis, the paper put forward three main countermeasures from improving pedestrian traffic facilities, enforcing traffic management and control, promoting safety education, in order to reduce and prevent pedestrian violations...
