With the rapid urbanization and the continuous growth of the motor vehicle ownership,the city traffic congestion problem is more and more serious in our country,and it is most serious especially during the morning and evening commuter traffic travel time.Traffic congestion easily causes traffic accidents,and the cost of commuting travel time by workers is increased.As a result,there must be a certain relationship between traffic congestion and workers commuter travel.The traditional disaggregate analysis method ignores the individual characteristics of commuting traveler.It is difficult to correctly reflect the relationship between workers' travel behavior and traffic congestion.There is important theoretical and practical significance to improve the quality of commuters travel and to alleviate the urban traffic congestion by analyzing the factors which influence workers commuting travel behavior,optimizing the transportation structure,and researching workers commuting travel mode choice based on workers' individual characteristics.Firstly,this paper summarized several kinds of common theory and methods which were used to analyze residents' travel behavior.Secondly,a multinomial Logistic model about workers commuting activity pattern choice was built based on analyzing workers' individual characteristics.Thirdly,using structural equation theory to make a hypothesis about the influence factors of workers' commuting travel mode choice,and then to determine its structural equation.Then proving the structural equation model about workers' commuting travel mode choice was effective by t test.At last,choosing residents' travel choice of Yongchuan district in Chongqing as an example to analyze,and built the structural equation model about workers' commuting travel mode choice for Yongchuan district by estimating parameters in the model and making an evaluation for the model.The example analysis results show that the higher economic level they have,the more likely to choose private transportation by workers,the older they are,the more inclined to choose public transportation by workers,and more simple commuter activity pattern they have,more likely to choose public transportation by workers.Therefore,the structural equation model of workers' commuting travel mode choice which was constructed in this paper has certain use value.Based on the residents' travel survey,this paper takes properties of workers and the commuting travel mode choice as the research object,and analyzes the structuralequation model of workers' commuting travel mode choice which has been set up.The research can supplement the basic theory of transportation engineering discipline,alleviate urban traffic congestion,and give certain guidance to improve the quality of residents' travel.
