Linxia hui autonomous prefecture is located in the junction between Gansu and Qinghai provinces.In the intense current times of globalization and localization,with the process of the regional integration and globalization,the transition zone becomes the space of intersection of various elements in the space of flows easily and gets the ability of controlling,dominating and coordinating of such resources.Under this background,the spatial structure of urban system in marginal region is gradually from closed system to open system,from local space to flowing space,and becomes the organizational form which has the color of traditional hierarchical system as well as the characteristics of the network,and shows the relationship with vertical grade as well as the level and bottom-top contact etc.Therefore,this article selects Linxia as the example,through the analysis of spatial organization of the urban system of it,it achieves to seek to the new approach of urban system under new circumstances.The research shows that:the major factors affecting the development of urban system in Linxia are:natural resources,historical conditions,socio-economic,ecological environment,ethnic and religious cultures and modern facilities network. these major problems contain rank and scale unreasonable,primacy ratio significantly, urban function unitarily,coordination poorly,spatial distribution unbalancedly,elements pointing to obviously.urban flow is Linxia city ahead and rank difference obviously,in addition the basic activity is the main cause of affecting urban flows.the characteristics of economic network are level connection among the members inferiorly,the overall network density not high,laking of intermediary hub-type town,centricity imbalancedly,having four sub-group cohesion,the"core-periphery"distribution of transportation accessibility is important reason affecting the network development of urban system.So the optimization and adjustment of spatial structure of urban system should focus on strengthening the center,constructing fulcrums,integrating advantaged function,rationing division of labor,forming the characteristic general layout which developing coordinately between small-medium cities and small towns and the spatial development pattern of "one main and two deputy,multi-pole,three axis".
