Power system communication protocols has very important significance for the for the safe and reliable operation of the modern grid,especially for the substation automation system remote parts.But in the actual process of using communication protocol,each device manufacturers adopt the protocol is not the same,resulting in that they are not compatible with each other and causing great difficulties for the communication process of each other.Therefore,IEC organizations draft a range of communication protocols technology standards.However,due to differences exist in the different users understand and apply standards,resulting in the means of access substation automation system device to achieve communication protocol are different,so different devices do not have the interoperability with each other,this solution will increase the workload of site maintenance,and bring about a huge waste of human,financial and material resources.Based on the analysis above,the paper relies on the project of common substation control engineer station software of power electronic devices of CHINA EPRI SCIENCE&TECHNOLOGY CO.,LTD..In the first,collectting the current mainstream standard protocols and company-specific protocols,after a careful analysis and sortting out,then carrying out a summary for the problems in the same kinds of protocols and different kinds of protocols when communicating between each other.On this basis,the idea of communication protocol conversion is proposed based on design patterns.After learning the AnPu Protocol and IEC60870-5-101Protocol and making them as a specifications,then devoting this design concept to the actual design and implementation.The conversion idea is also expanded to IEC61850protocol.The operation of specific experimental program that developing based on QT in the common substation control station engineers software have proved the correctness and practicality of the design.This is the first introduction of design patterns for communication protocol conversion in the substation automation systems engineer station software.This idea make a convenience for devices using the same protocols during different periods and using different type communication protocols,it also greatly reducing the workload of site debug and maintenance.This design ideas have some theoretical and practical significance for the communication protocol conversion of modern grid.
